The SADC Extraordinary Heads of State and Government that the Second Vice President Right Honourable Enock Kanzingeni Chihana attended on behalf of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at Capital Hill, Lilongwe on June 29, 2026.
The Virtual Summit was chaired by Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa who called for an inclusive, time-bound and nationally owned process in Madagascar.
And the Extraordinary Summit adopted the TROIKA Report that was chaired by the Malawi’s Second Vice President which called for democratic governance and conflict resolution.
The Summit also adopted a report from the “Council of Elders” which is chaired by former President Dr Joyce Banda who was appointed by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to lead the negotiations in the ending power struggle in Madagascar.
