Msaka Joins Lhomwe Community at Mulhako Festival

Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bright Msaka has arrived at Chonde Cultural Village in Mulanje District for this year’s Mulhako wa Alhomwe cultural festival.

Msaka, who is also the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)’s Eastern Region vice-president, is among the government and party officials attending the annual event celebrating Lhomwe heritage and traditions.

The minister is known for his appreciation of culture, with his presence adding to the gathering of leaders and members of the Lhomwe community.

The 18th edition of the festival has attracted traditional leaders, religious representatives and visitors from Mozambique, with cultural dances, music and speeches forming part of the programme.

Established in 2008, Mulhako wa Alhomwe aims to preserve and promote Lhomwe cultural values, traditions and identity.
