Business Community Key to Development- Mtumbuka

Member of Parliament for Rumphi Central Constituency, Matthews Mtumbuka, has described business people as critical drivers of development, saying their growth directly contributes to the progress of both the district and the country.

Mtumbuka made the remarks in Rumphi when he donated two large solar lamps to Bolero Market and Kasalasala Market.

He said the lack of proper lighting has been limiting trading hours, forcing vendors to close early and reducing their income.

“With reliable lighting now in place, traders will be able to operate for longer hours, even at night, which is expected to improve their earnings despite the current economic challenges,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the vendors at Bolero Market, Kasawambe Gondwe thanked the MP for the support, saying the development will help them expand their business hours and increase sales.

The donation is expected to benefit dozens of traders who rely on the markets for their daily livelihood.
