Minister of Local Government Dr Ben Phiri and Minister of Health Madalitso Baloyi have on Monday handed over 16 waste bins to the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC).
The waste bins were donated by ACES , a company based in Lilongwe to support President Mutharika’s sanitation initiative.
The two ministers handed over the waste bins to OPC to allow the office of the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet distribute them to various Capital Hill offices in respect of the President’s executive order on sanitation and hygiene.
Phiri said the remaining waste bins will also be distributed to the city council and other public places.
Receiving the donation, Chief Secretary, Justin Saidi appreciated the gesture.
He said he was happy to see that ministries, departments and agencies are taking the executive order seriously.
