…Reaches Over 20,000 Households
Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) has reached more than 20,000 households across Malawi with food packs during the holy month of Ramadhan, with plans to extend support to nearly 100,000 families nationwide.
In Mangochi District, the foundation distributed food packs to 4,000 families at Makawa Primary School in Traditional Authority (T/A) Mponda.
Each package included maize flour, beans, rice, soya pieces, and sugar to help families observe Suhoor and Iftar.

Speaking at the event, FGRF’s Director of Public Relations and Communication, Ibrahim Omar Mataya, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable Muslim households during the fasting period.
“Our charity work intensifies during Ramadhan to help the needy, ensuring that families can observe Suhoor and Iftar with dignity,” Mataya said.
The foundation’s reach extends to several other districts, including 1,700 families in Chikunda, 300 in Chiswe, 4,000 in Nsanje, 4,000 in Thyolo, 650 in Kanjedza, 1,000 in Zomba, and 4,000 in Salima.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support. Sabiti Wilson from Mpemba Village and Miliward Nifa from Makawa Village praised FGRF for easing their Ramadan preparations and reaching so many families in need.
FGRF’s expanded reach this year highlights its growing impact in addressing food insecurity and supporting Muslim communities across Malawi during one of the most important periods of the Islamic calendar.
