Hundreds of smallholder farmers in Traditional Authority (T/A) Chadza in Lilongwe are set to benefit from farm input support under the Hope Field Initiative, a nationwide agricultural empowerment programme spearheaded by Apostle Clifford Kawinga, founder of Salvation for All Ministries International (SFAMI).

The development follows the successful launch of the initiative on Tuesday in Senior Chief Chawanda’s area in Ntchisi District. The programme, described as both humanitarian and transformative, aims to uplift rural livelihoods by addressing what Apostle Kawinga termed “the three dimensions of human existence — the soul, the flesh, and the spirit.”

Speaking during the handover ceremony in Lilongwe, Apostle Kawinga urged both individuals and the private sector to embrace compassion-driven initiatives that address food insecurity, shelter, and clothing challenges among underprivileged Malawians.
“Christianity is about service to others. We cannot claim to love God if we neglect the needs of our brothers and sisters. It’s time we turned our faith into tangible acts of kindness,” he said.

The Hope Field Initiative is distributing 6,000 bags of maize and 60 bags of fertilizer to farmers’ clubs across Malawi, with the goal of boosting food production and restoring hope among struggling families.
Local farmers described the donation as a timely lifeline, coming just as the rainy season begins.

Edna Jere, a member of Mingu Sasa Farmers’ Club, expressed gratitude, saying the gesture would go a long way in sustaining their livelihoods.
“We had lost hope after struggling with poor harvests last year, but this support has given us strength to start afresh,” she said.

Another beneficiary, Mai Allan of Kachitsa Chipote Club, echoed similar sentiments, adding that with the early provision of maize seed and fertilizer, she anticipates a bumper harvest next season.
Community leaders in the area hailed Apostle Kawinga for extending his ministry beyond the pulpit and directly into the fields, where the fight against poverty is most visible.

The Hope Field Initiative forms part of Apostle Kawinga’s broader vision to integrate faith with socio-economic transformation, ensuring that communities are not only spiritually nourished but also economically empowered.
“This is more than charity,” Apostle Kawinga emphasized. “It is a call to action for all of us to make Malawi a land of shared hope and opportunity.”
