Apostle Kawinga’s Hope Field Initiative Boosts Mchinji Farmers

The Hope Field Initiative, a flagship project of Salvation for All Ministries International (SFAMI) led by its founder Apostle Clifford Kawinga, continues to transform lives through sustainable agricultural support—this time reaching farmers in Mchinji.

On Sunday, the initiative established 10 farmers’ clubs in the area of Traditional Authority Zulu, bringing together 2,000 members into organised groups aimed at strengthening community-led agriculture.

Each club received 50 bags of fertiliser, 50 packs of maize seed and hoes, equipping farmers to embark on meaningful and sustainable food production. According to the ministry, the support forms part of its broader mission to reduce dependence on external aid and promote self-reliance among rural households.

One beneficiary, Emily Sambani Naphiri, welcomed the gesture, saying the intervention would restore dignity and food security in her home.

“With this support, I will be able to harvest enough food for my family. I encourage my fellow beneficiaries to work hard in their fields so that we achieve food sufficiency,” she said.

Naphiri added that her club is preparing to plant maize on a five-acre communal field, a move expected to boost collective yields and improve household incomes.

To protect farmers from exploitative vendors, SFAMI has also pledged to buy their produce at competitive prices, ensuring a stable and reliable market for their harvests.

Earlier in the day, Apostle Kawinga visited Hope Orphanage in Mchinji, where he donated 200 bags of maize to support the institution’s feeding programme.

The Hope Field Initiative continues to gain momentum across communities, with beneficiaries describing it as a timely intervention amid rising food insecurity.
