BLANTYRE – Minister of Homeland Security, Hon. Peter Mukhito, has warned criminals in the country that the government will not tolerate criminal activities.
Hon. Mukhito said yesterday’s rescue operation is a clear warning to criminals that the government will not stand by and watch criminal activities.
The Minister made the remarks at Mwaiwathu Hospital in Blantyre after visiting Deputy Inspector General of Police responsible for Operations, Dr. Noel Kayira, who was shot by kidnappers.
Dr. Kayira was injured during an operation to rescue British national, Mrs. Nusrat Jiwa Osman, who was kidnapped a few days ago in Blantyre City.
Hon. Mukhito hailed Dr. Kayira’s bravery for leading the successful rescue mission and assured Malawians that security agencies remain vigilant and committed to protecting all citizens and foreign nationals.
