Deputy Minister of Homeland Security and Ntcheu Central Central East Member of Parliament Norman Chisale says he has no grudge against UTM, but accuses some of its leaders of interfering with traditional leaders in his constituency.
Chisale, who is also Director of Youth for the mighty DPP, made the remarks while launching a K50 million football trophy aimed at promoting youth talent and unity.
He said his concerns were with individuals and not UTM as a political party.
He also spoke about his arrest under the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), describing it as one of the most painful experiences of his life.
He said the Catholic Church supported him during that period and, in appreciation, plans to construct a church and name it after one of the bishops who stood by him.
The man of the people, Chisale further said he will continue supporting his constituents, adding that parents who attended the event would receive a bag of flour and a piece of cloth.
He also urged people to stop interfering in the affairs of Ntcheu Central Central East, saying his focus is on development and youth empowerment.
