Government has suspended three senior officials who are now under investigation for undisclosed reasons.
Chief Secretary to the Government Justin Saidi has confirmed the suspensions of Macra director general Daud Suleman, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) DG George Kasakula and National Economic Empowerment Fund (Neef) CEO Humfrey Mdyetseni.
In an interview, Saidi did not provide specific details about the nature of the investigations but assured the public that more information would be shared in due course.
He explained that revealing the details at this stage could compromise the investigative process.
He said : “If we reveal the nature of the investigations, then we risk jeopardising the whole process. But our officers are already in the three offices doing their job.”
