Well, Chawezi Banda has gone into town attacking some individuals from MBC, including unsolicited attacks on the Director General Brian Banda.
Those attacks are not even worthy of a response, but because in his outbursts he has chosen to include some lies, it is those lies that this post aims to address.
1- LIES ABOUT HIS FORST DISMISSAL (2019)
Chawezi Banda was not dismissed from MBC because of his political moves. He was dismissed because he stole from the corporation. And stealing is a gross misconduct according to MBC terms and conditions of service.
FACTS
In 2019, MBC commercial department had negotiated an advertisement deal worthy about K15 million with one of the international NGOs working in the country.
Chawezi had some friends at this NGO and had tipped him about the move. He went behind MBC, using these friends that he can do a documentary for them with the same content they wanted to place adverts for at about K7 million. He got the deal.
As officials from the commercial department were waiting for the finalization of the deal with the NGO, a documentary by Chawezi was already on air.
When the matter was investigated, Chawezi was found on the wrong side of MBC’s terms and conditions of service and was dismissed.
LIES
Disciplinary proceedings in most institutions are treated with the utmost privacy and are never for public consumption, so is MBC.
Chawezi took MBC silence over the matter to lie to the public that he had been dismissed because he was PRO-MCP, which was a lie and MCP, George Kasakula and many gullible others bought the lie religiously and was brought back at the turn of political landscape in 2020.
LIES ABOUT HIS DISMISSAL (2022)

When he was brought back, Chawezi was almost a deputy director general. The guy was very powerful and influencial because he had lied to many kuti mmemo anasonkha nawo more than Kasakula.
With those powers, Chawezi staged another heist, stealing from MBC using the similar fashion that led to his first dismissal. What he had forgotten was that, it was the government that had changed, but the terms and conditions of service at MBC were still the same. So he was dismissed again. And this time again, because of stealing not politics.
LIES
He went to town again demonizing Kasakula, threatening to spill the beans. ‘if I go down, Kasakula is going down with me’ he told the social media and many. Empty threats that never saw the light of the day.
