The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has written to the Acting Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), urging the office to investigate reports that the National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) has awarded a contract to Savari, a company linked to businessperson Zuneth Sattar.
In a letter signed by CDEDI Executive Director Silvester Namiwa, the organisation notes that Sattar’s companies are currently banned from conducting business until the corruption cases he is facing in the United Kingdom are concluded.
Namiwa has therefore called on the ACB to act swiftly on the matter.
