Dr Jane Ansah Foundation on Thursday, donated various items to elderly, people with albinism and people with disabilities at Tiwafikile Cooperative in the area of Traditional Authority Chingala in Mitundu, Lilongwe.
Vice President Dr Jane Ansah who is Founder of the Foundation said the donation of bags of flour, clothes, bicycles, hats and skin lotion for people with albinism is part of a long-running initiative to support vulnerable communities across the country.

“The giving out of these items, is an ongoing programme which has been running for the past two years.The aim is to make sure that the vulnerable people too have access to find their basic needs, said Ansah.
She said the Foundation was established in 2010 when she worked closely with people with albinism in Mitundu, Lilongwe, and has since expanded its outreach to other districts.

She then appealed to the newly launched Tiwafikile Cooperative to unite and work hard to achieve their goals.
She further said the Foundation is currently supporting students pursuing various technical and vocational skills, including welding, plumbing, video production and tailoring.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Authority Chingala, Group villageheadman Chingala commended the initiative, saying it promotes development and self-reliance within communities.
Chairperson for Tiwafikile Cooperative Henry Bauti also thanked the Dr Ansah Foundation for the continued commitment of helping the underprivileged in the communities.
Bauti said through the Cooperative, they want to start keeping goats, pigs, chicken and venture into irrigation scheme where they want to be growing maize and cassava.
