Second Vice President, Enock Chihana, has urged voters in Lilongwe City Bwaila Constituency to support Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) parliamentary candidate Mike Chinzukila in the upcoming by-election.
Chihana made the appeal during a campaign rally in the area, saying Bwaila needed leaders who would deliver development and restore hope among residents.
“I know he is going to win. We have a message of hope and development which we have brought here in Bwaila Constituency,” he said.
He said the campaign was focusing on key issues, including household food security, access to fuel, and affordable fertiliser.
“We are talking about food security at household level, ensuring there is fuel available. That is what we have promised,” said Chihana.
Chihana, who is also leader of the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD), said AFORD remains a key partner in the DPP-led political alliance and is working closely with the party to improve livelihoods across the country.
He further commended President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, describing him as a leader with a strong development record who is steering Malawi towards greater heights.
DPP Vice President for the Central Region, Alfred Gangata, also addressed the rally.
The DPP has since urged voters in Bwaila Constituency to turn out in large numbers on June 30, 2026, and vote for Mike Chinzukila, saying this would strengthen representation in Parliament and accelerate development in the area.
