Apostle Clifford Kawinga, owner of Creck Hardware and General Suppliers, has donated two firefighting trucks worth approximately K300 million to the Malawi Government.
The trucks were handed over to the Ministry of Local Government during a ceremony held at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.
Kawinga said the donation demonstrates his commitment to supporting government efforts to improve public safety and emergency response services.
He said Creck Hardware and General Suppliers would continue complementing government efforts in addressing critical needs within communities.
Receiving the donation, Minister of Local Government Ben Phiri thanked Kawinga for the contribution, describing it as an important boost to firefighting and emergency response capacity.
One of the trucks has been allocated to Mangochi Municipal Council, while the other has been allocated to Lilongwe City Council.
The donation is expected to strengthen the councils’ ability to respond to fire emergencies and protect lives and property.
