Apostle Kawinga’s Salvation Ministry Strengthens Lilongwe Farmers

Farmers in Chimutu Village, under Traditional Authority Tsabango in Lilongwe, are anticipating a bumper harvest in the 2025/26 farming season after receiving a substantial donation of irrigation equipment on Thursday.

The support comes through the Hope Field Initiative, a programme run by Salvation For All Ministries International.

The initiative’s founder, Apostle Clifford Kawinga, says the goal is to strengthen climate-resilient agriculture and reduce farmers’ reliance on increasingly erratic rainfall.

Apostle Kawinga described the donation as part of a long-term vision to empower rural communities with modern irrigation technologies, enabling them to sustain production even during extended dry spells.

He said the intervention signals the beginning of an “agricultural shift” capable of transforming smallholder farming.

The consignment included diesel-powered irrigation pumps designed to improve water access and support year-round farming.

Farmers from three clubs in Chimutu Village also received 50 bags of fertiliser each, along with 50 kilogrammes of maize seed per club, as preparations for the new planting season gather momentum.

Local leaders have welcomed the gesture, saying the initiative gives farmers renewed confidence ahead of the coming season — boosting both yields and food security for the wider Tsabango area.
