The Young Pastors Network of Malawi (YPA), led by Webster Kameme, on Friday, August 14, 2026 paid a courtesy call on the Vice President of Malawi Dr Jane Mayemu Ansah at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.
During the meeting, the YPA shared its vision, aspirations and perspectives on how pastors and the church can continue contributing positively to national development, good governance and the promotion of strong moral values in society. The network also highlighted the importance of equipping pastors with relevant knowledge and skills to enable them to effectively engage in matters of national development and public affairs.
In her response, Vice President Dr Jane Mayemu Ansah commended the YPA delegation for taking the initiative to engage with her and for sharing its vision and aspirations for the country.

Dr Ansah encouraged the pastors to play a leading role in promoting family values, peace, unity and responsible citizenship, noting that the church has an important role to play in shaping a morally upright and responsible society.
She further urged the pastors to remain committed to their calling and to continue using their influence to inspire positive change in communities, emphasising that their effectiveness in both their pastoral responsibilities and public engagement should be guided by strong values and their relationship with God.
The Vice President assured the YPA of her appreciation for its contribution to national dialogue and encouraged the network to continue working with other stakeholders in promoting the welfare and development of Malawi.
